The Arkas Sports All-Star men’s volleyball team became the Turkish champion in the All-Star Men’s Turkish Finals held in Afyon on 14-19 June. In a breathtaking battle, Arkas Sports beat Fenerbahçe in the final match 3-0. Barbaros Erk was chosen as the best setter and Samet Gümüş was chosen as the best hitter.

Arkas Sports, which will be the Izmir representative for the 1st Men’s Volleyball League representing Turkey in the European Champions League next year, signed a 2-year contract with Kevin Hansen, a setter from the American National Team, as well as Gord Perrin and Justin Duff, players on the Canadian National Team.

Born in 1979 and 1.96 m tall, Bravo signed a two-year contract with Arkas Sports that includes one option year.

Arkas Sports has signed a contract with Glenn Hoag, who has been directing the Canadian national team since 2006. The coach came to Izmir on Saturday, August 7, where he toured the facilities in Örnekköy and met with the players. Hoag emphasized that he is a coach who works very systematically and who believes in methodology. He said, “I want to implement a different methodology here.”

Arkas Sports holds a signing ceremony for foreign players

After becoming the European Challenge Cup Champion in the 2008-2009 season, Arkas Sport has a goal of maintaining this success by transferring strong players for the upcoming season.

For the past two seasons, Arkas Sports has won the Turkish Men's 1st Volleyball League Championship, and this year the club is representing Turkey in the Indesit European Champions League. Arkas Sports is participating for the first time in the Champions League, where it will compete with the best European teams. Arkas Sports will play against Italian, Spanish and Austrian teams in the first phase of the tournament.

Arkas Sports finished this season as the overall champion in the Turkish Men's Volleyball 1st League, claiming the championship for the second time in a row after a challenging season. With 33 wins out of 36 matches played during the season and in the four championship matches, Arkas Sports also set a record that will be hard to break.
