Enes Yılmazer (18), a successful Arkas Sports windsurfer who is the current IFCA Youth Slalom World Champion, successfully completed the Alaçatı leg of the PWS World Slalom Windsurf Championship
The sixth leg of the PWS World Championship took place at Alaçatı, Turkey on August 10-15, 2009. Enes Yılmazer, a champion surfer from Arkas Sports, completed the race in 23rd place. This result made Yılmazer the youngest Turkish surfer to enter the top 25, and he was also the second best Turkish surfer in the men’s category.
Past achievements
Enes Yılmazer recorded three first-place finishes and two second-place finishes in three national and five international races he entered in 2007. In 2008, he won the championship in the youth slalom category in the Windsurf Turkey Championship that was put on by the Turkish Sailing Federation in Datça. Immediately after that success, he came in first place in the World Youth Slalom Championship that was held in the town of Torbole, Italy on July 7-14. By winning the World Championship for Turkey, Yılmazer achieved a first for Turkish windsurfing history. This year, Yılmazer finished the same race with the title of World Champion.
