Born in 1979, Hüseyin Koç is 1.98 m tall. He started playing volleyball in 1992 with Bursa DSİ Nilüferspor. In 1996, he transferred to Çankaya Municipality. (In 1998, Çankaya Municipality was the champion in 2nd league and advanced to 1st league.) In 1998, he transferred to Ziraat Bankası. He played for Ziraat Bankası from 1998-2003. In 2005, he transferred to Greater Istanbul Municipality, and in 2008, he transferred to Arkas Sports. Koç has played for the Turkish National Team 220 times. He was chosen “Best Setter” in the 2002 Spring Cup Championship, “Most Valuable Player” in the 2002 Spring Cup 2nd league, and “Best Setter” in the 2004 Spring Cup Championship. In 2005 he was on the winning team at the UNIVERSIADE championship in Izmir. His team was 4th in the 2006 European League and also played in the 2007 Universiade European Championship (where he was chosen best setter)
Born in Sakarya in 1980, Ahmet Toçoğlu is 2.04 m tall and is a second year student at Sakarya University’s B.E.S.Y.O. He began playing volleyball in Sakarya at Tüvasaş Demir Sports. In 1996 he was transferred to Arçelik Sports (youth team). In the 98-99 season he advanced to the A team. He experienced Turkish championship victories with Arçelik in 2000, 2001 and 2003 and with Erdemirspor in the 2004 season. Toçoğlu was chosen the best server in the Turkey League in the 2006-2007 season and has played for the national team 240 times. The 2009-2010 season is his third season at Arkas Sports.
Nuri Şahin was born in Tokat in 1980 and is married. He began playing volleyball at age 12 in Tokat. At age 15 he was transferred to Eczacıbaşı. After playing with Galatasaray for 8 years, he was transferred to Arçelik Sports Club (for 1 year) and from there to Fenerbahçe. He has played for the national A team 155 times and this will be his third year at Arkas Sports.
Born in 1977, Mustafa Serhat Ünal is 2.02 m tall. He is married and has one child. He is enrolled in a correspondence education program, where he is in his fourth year in the Finance department. He played for Söke Lee and Marmara Koleji. He experienced Turkish championship victories two years in a row with Arkas. The 2009-2010 season will be his seventh year at Arkas Sports Club.
Born in 1990, Burutay Subaşı is 1.95 m tall. He started playing volleyball in 2001 with SSK Sports Club. In 2006, he transferred to Arkas Sports Club. He has played 100 times for the national team (varsity boys and youth teams), and this is his second year on the A team. His accomplishments on the national team include: 4th place in the 2004-05 Young Men’s Balkan Championship, 4th place in the 2005-06 Varsity Boys Balkan Championship, 2nd place in the 2006-07 Varsity Boys Balkan Championship, 9th place in the 2006-07 Varsity Boys European Championship, 3rd place in the 2007-08 Varsity Boys Balkan Championship and 10th place in the 2007-08 European Championship. While playing for Arkas Sports Club, he shared in the 2006-07 Varsity Boys Turkish Championship and the 2007-08 Young Men's Turkish Championship.
Paul Duerden was born in Canada in 1974. He is 1.95 m. tall and has 3 children. He played 300 matches for the Canadian National Team. Duerden reached the French championship 4 times from 1999 to 2002 (while playing for State Poitevin and Paris Volley). An experienced player, he helped Paris Volley win the European Top Teams and the European Super Cup in 2000 as well as the European Champion's League Cup in 2001. He also played a significant role in helping Arkas Sports win the Turkish championship in 2006. The 2009-2010 season is his fourth season at Arkas Sports.
Born in Mersin in 1972, Gökhan Öner is 1.93 m tall. He is married and has one child. Öner played for SSK, Arçelik, Fenerbahçe and Halkbankası. He has played for the Turkish National Team a total of 320 times. Gökhan Öner is the team captain for the 2009-2010 season, his fourth season at Arkas.
Born in Mersin in 1988, Emin Gök is a student in the Coaching department at Ege University. He started playing volleyball in 2003 in Tarsus. Gök played for the Turkish national youth team 15 times. His achievements include the Young Men’s Balkan Championship (2006) and 3rd place in the Balkan Championship (2007) while on the national team as well as the Young Men’s Turkish Championship (2006) and the Turkish 2nd League championship (2007) while playing for Arkas Sports. He was trained in the Arkas sports club and advanced to the A team for the 2007-2008 season.
Ceyhun Tendar was born in Izmir in 1987. This is the third year on the A team for this player, who is 1.87 m. tall and was trained in our club. Tendar is a second year student at Ege University in the Sports Management department.
Born in 1976, Bülent Kandemir is 1.96 m tall. He is married and has two children. He has played 60 matches for the national team. He graduated from Marmara University Sports Academy. Kandemir has played for Arçelik, SSK and Halk Bankası. He experienced Turkish championship victories two years in a row with Arkas. This is his sixth year at Arkas Sports Club.
