CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM'S STAR PLAYER, PAUL DUERDEN, COMES TO ARKAS SPORTS!
Arkas Sports transferred Paul Duerden, an opposite hitter who played 300 matches for the Canada National Team.
Since its championship finish in the Men's Volleyball 1st League 2005-2006 season, Arkas Sports has begun to work hard on transfers for the 2006-2007 season.
After playing for the French team, Stade Poitevin, last season, Paul Duerden, 32 years old and 1.95 m tall, will now be wearing a blue-and-white Arkas jersey.

Duerden played for Stade Poitevin
and Paris Volley winning the French championship 4 times between
the years of 1999-2002 and the French cup twice. An experienced player,
he helped Paris Volley win the European Top Teams and European Super
Cup in 2000 and the European Champion's League Cup in 2001. Born
in England, Paul Duerden has played 300 matches for the Canadian
National Team.

A SPANISH BULL JOINS ARKAS
The blue-and-white Arkas team continued their flurry of transfers
by acquiring Pedro Suela, a hitter from Spain's National Team.
Arkasspor's continues to focus on transfers. The Izmir team
is strengthening its squad with quality players in order to
be successful in the European Cups and the latest transfer
is the Spaniard Pedro Suela, who played last year for the Italian
team Arezzo. Born in 1976 and 1.98 m tall, Suela suited up
178 times for the Spanish National Team.
He has played for
the Spanish teams Numancia Soria and Unicaja Almeria as well
as the Italian teams Gioia Del Colle, Codyeco Lupi Croce and
Arezzo.

NATIONAL TEAM CAPTAIN,
GÖKHAN, JOINS ARKASSPOR!!
Arkas, the first champion in the Izmir Men's Volleyball 1st
League, finished its series of transfers with Gökhan. The blue-and-white
team signed an agreement with Gökhan Öner, who played middle
blocker for Halk Bankası last season. Gökhan is 1.93 m tall
and has suited up for the national team 230 times. His transfer
has been the most surprising event of the year for many in
the world of Turkish volleyball.

A GIANT POWER-HITTER
RETURNS
Arkasspor has re-transferred the 2.08 m tall American Michael
Dyk, making him the team's 4th foreign player.
Izmir's only representative in the Men's Volleyball 1st League,
Arkasspor continues its spate of transfers. After the Turkish
Volleyball Federation agreed on its 3+1 rule, the blue-and-white
Arkas team went into action to form a squad with alternatives
that will be able to compete both in the league and in European
Cups. In keeping with this goal, Arkasspor made a new agreement
with Shaun Michael Dyk, a former player.
After transferring the Canadian Duerden and the Spaniard Suela
as well as renewing their contract with the Argentinian Gaston
Giani, Arkasspor completed its transfer of foreign players
by acquiring Dyk from the US National Team.
