Our volleyball team played against PAOK from Greece in Thessaloniki on January 17th in the Top Teams Cup. In a previous match held in Izmir, Arkas had defeated PAOK 3 – 0. Even though we were leading in the hotly-contended match and reached match point, we unfortunately lost 3 – 2. However, this year was the first time in which an extra game was played to determine team ranking, which our team won 25-21, managing to eliminate PAOK and become one of the final 8 teams in the Top Teams Cup. Our next opponent in the European Cup will be Cimone Modena from Italy. This Italian team eliminated Czestochowa from Poland and has a high ranking in the Italian league.
